Sta. Cruz, Davao del Sur Mayor Jose Nelson “Tata” Sala has filed a libel complaint against Junior “Jun” Digamon, the station manager of 93.1 Brigada News FM-Davao.
Sala personally sent a copy of the subpoena to Digamon through the latter’s social media page, Jundigz1969. The subpoena orders Digamon to submit a counter-affidavit within 10 days.
In a message sent via Messenger, Sala stated that they are set to meet in Digos City on Jan. 7, 2026. The mayor added that he filed eight counts of libel, which also include the radio station.
Sala further claimed in his message that Digamon would not be pleased with the sharing of the message, noting that the case could lead to expenses for bail or legal counsel.
Digamon had previously mentioned Sala in his on-air commentaries related to the death of Barangay Tres de Mayo Captain Oscar “Dodong” Bucol Jr. Sala was reportedly among those discussed during the radio commentary.
The mayor did not provide further public statements outside the message he sent to Digamon.
For his part, Digamon said he is ready to face the libel complaint. He expressed that he is unfazed by the filing of the case and is prepared to respond through the proper legal process.
No additional details regarding the content of the alleged libelous statements were disclosed. The case remains under review as the legal process moves forward.
