Special elections in Antipolo’s 2nd district begin

The special elections for the 2nd district of Antipolo have officially begun today.

According to Commission on Elections (Comelec) Chairman George Erwin Garcia, it is encouraging to see that poll watchers and voters arrived early for the election.

Garcia said that as early as 4 a.m., voters were already lining up, while teachers assisting in the election had already arrived at the polling centers around 3 a.m.

He also noted that watchers from different political parties and candidates had set up early.

This, he said, shows that they are alert and expecting a strong turnout of voters for the special elections.

Regular voting hours are scheduled from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m..
