Son of late Rep. Acop proclaimed as new representative of Antipolo’s 2nd district

Philip Conrad Acop, the son of late lawmaker Romeo Acop, has been officially proclaimed as the new representative of the 2nd district of Antipolo.

According to the Commission on Elections (Comelec), the younger Acop received 60,051 votes out of 82,796 cast in the special elections held on Saturday.

He led the race among five other candidates vying for the position.

With this, Acop will serve the remaining two years of his father’s term in the 20th Congress until 2028.

It can be recalled that the former congressman passed away due to a heart attack in December 2025, which prompted the holding of the special election.

Meanwhile, Comelec expressed gratitude to everyone who contributed their service and support in successfully carrying out the election over the weekend.
