Akbayan Partylist Representative Percy Cendana formally endorsed the first impeachment complaint against Vice President Sara Duterte on Monday afternoon.
Cendana said the impeachment complaint against Duterte is the first step to demand accountability from the vice president.
” Panahon na para isara ng taumbayan ang bangungot na dulot ni Sara.Vice President Duterte deserves to be impeached for her abuse of power and plunder of the nation’s coffer. Cendana said.
The legislator added that the ” country must not allow the Duterte family’s legacy of corruption and mass murder to persist and unchallenged.”
The complainants are members of civil society organizations, religious leaders, sectoral representatives and families of those who died during the war on drugs of Former President Rodrigo Duterte.
Among those who accompanied the complainants was the Dutertes’ fiercest critic Former Senator Leila Delima.
Delima who just regained freedom after spending seven years in jail for drug raps during the Duterte Administration said she is giving the complainants her all out support.
” Hindi na dapat maghari-harian ang mga Duterte o magkaroon ng espesyal na proteksyon sa ilalim ng batas.” Delima wrote in her Facebook page.
The vice president has not issued statement yet regarding the impeachment complaint.
