A driver sustained serious injuries after crashing into a parked truck along the Davao-Bukidnon National Highway in Barangay Gumalang, Baguio District, Davao City around 2 a.m. on Sunday, April 7.
According to a report from the Baguio Police Station, the victim was identified as Lemuel Jan Micabalo, a resident of Misamis Oriental. He is currently receiving medical treatment at a hospital.
Initial investigation revealed that Micabalo may have fallen asleep while driving, causing his vehicle to suddenly veer into the opposite lane and slam into a parked wing van truck.
Authorities said the impact severely damaged the car and left Micabalo with serious injuries. He was immediately rushed to the nearest hospital for treatment.
Police are continuing their investigation into the incident.
