A 49-year-old siomai vendor was shot dead in broad daylight by unidentified gunmen just meters away from the Sto. Tomas police station and municipal hall, Sto. Tomas, Davao del Norte.
Authorities identified the victim as Conderella Pansaon Basit, a resident of Purok 13, Feeder Road 4, Barangay Tibal-og. The attack happened at around 1:30 PM on March 6, 2025, in Purok 10, Feeder Road 3.
According to initial police investigations, Basit was cooking siomai near her cart when two men approached and suddenly shot her in the head. She died instantly due to multiple gunshot wounds.
Eyewitnesses said the assailants immediately fled on a waiting black Honda TMX motorcycle, heading towards Kapalong.
The Sto. Tomas police have launched a pursuit operation to track down the suspects. The motive behind the killing remains under investigation.
