House Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez reiterated the importance of the Ayuda sa Kapos ang Kita Program (AKAP) of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) during his visit to Naga and Camarines Sur. “Essential for the poor,” Romualdez declared, highlighting the program’s significance. He assured the public of the House’s support for the AKAP budget in the 2025 national budget, despite the Senate’s recommendation to cut funding for the controversial program.
Romualdez visited Naga and Camarines Sur for the AKAP Payout, accompanied by House Committee on Appropriations Chairperson and Ako Bicol party-list Rep. Elizaldy Co, along with other local officials. The visit underscored the commitment to ensuring that the AKAP program continues to provide assistance to low-income families.
