Recorded “super flu” cases in the country exceed 60

The number of people infected with the so-called “super flu” has reached 63.

In an interview, Department of Health (DOH) spokesperson Assistant Secretary Albert Domingo said that all reported cases have already recovered.

Domingo clarified that the illness is not new.

He explained that it is a variant of Influenza A, or simply the common flu.

He added that the virus has been circulating for a long time and has symptoms no different from those of an ordinary flu.

In closing, the DOH again reminded the public that wearing face masks is advisable, but stressed that this does not mean the illness is a major problem.

According to Domingo, it is merely a precautionary measure.
