Jinkee Pacquiao turns backlash over umbrella incident into joke

Jinkee Pacquiao has turned criticism from netizens into a laughing matter following the circulation of a video showing her bodyguard holding an umbrella over her while she was on her way to the gym.

In a video Jinkee shared on Facebook on October 30, she was seen with several people reenacting the umbrella incident in pairs, with one person holding an umbrella over another.

“Ang payong,” the group said in unison, as Jinkee jokingly reminded them to hold the umbrella properly over her.

One member of the group also thanked her bashers, before they burst into laughter and sang Rihanna’s “Umbrella.”

Jinkee previously drew criticism after a video showed her bodyguard holding an umbrella over her as she left their home in General Santos City on October 17, despite the absence of rain and the gym reportedly being just a short distance away.

In an earlier video posted on October 28, Jinkee clarified that she did not ask the bodyguard to hold the umbrella for her, explaining that her husband, Manny Pacquiao, had assigned the bodyguard to accompany her.

She also jokingly said she would reprimand the bodyguard if she had known he was holding an umbrella over her despite the sunny weather.
