PSC to discuss penalties for online resale of athletes’ Asian Games gear

The Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) is set to discuss penalties against individuals who resell online items distributed to Filipino athletes for the 2026 Asian Games.

The move follows reports that some of the equipment, including bags and duffel bags, were being offered for sale on online platforms.

During a Senate budget hearing, PSC Chair John Patrick “Pato” Gregorio said the commission would discuss measures to prevent the sale of the items at its next board meeting.

Gregorio stressed that the practice would not be allowed and that appropriate penalties would be imposed on those found violating the policy.

The issue was raised by Sen. Christopher “Bong” Go, chair of the Senate Committee on Sports, who said he had also seen online posts offering items distributed to the Philippine delegation for the Asian Games.

However, neither the PSC nor Go identified the individuals behind the listings or confirmed whether any of the items had been sold.
