Price Freeze Implemented in Areas Affected by Typhoon Opong

The Department of Agriculture (DA) has enforced a price freeze on basic commodities in areas placed under a state of calamity due to the impact of Typhoon Opong.

According to Agriculture Secretary Cristina Roque, the price freeze is now in effect in Masbate, Aklan, and other provinces heavily affected by the storm.

She emphasized that retailers must strictly adhere to the prices set by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and ensure that these do not change.

To guarantee compliance, the DA has already deployed monitoring teams to oversee retailers and suppliers.
