PNP investigates VP Duterte over alleged threats to PBBM

Tensions soared as Vice President Sara Duterte unleashed her anger, labeling President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. a liar. Her frustration also extended to House Speaker Martin Romualdez and First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos.

Amid these controversies, the Philippine National Police-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG) launched an investigation into alleged threats made by VP Duterte against the lives of President Marcos, First Lady Liza, and Speaker Romualdez.

According to CIDG Director Brigadier General Nicolas Torre III, the investigation seeks to determine whether VP Duterte’s statements about contacting an assassin or hitman were literal or merely a figure of speech.

Torre stated that the motu proprio investigation by the CIDG regarding the incident has already commenced.
