Turmoil has reportedly erupted inside the Department of Justice as Attorney General “Blondi” faces internal resistance and accusations of pressuring top officials to defend her amid explosive claims related to the Jeffrey Epstein case.
Conservative firebrand Laura Loomer revealed Saturday that multiple DOJ insiders are accusing Blondi of demanding FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino and FBI Director Kash Patel help reinforce a false narrative that there is no tension within the department. According to sources familiar with internal communications, both men are resisting efforts to support Blondi’s position.
Blondi’s credibility questioned after Epstein file mishandling
The unrest follows Loomer’s earlier report that Bongino took the day off and is weighing resignation over what he sees as Blondi’s lack of transparency in handling Epstein files. Sources say Blondi’s team is now panicking and pressuring senior officials to publicly back her or risk retaliation.
“She has a horrible temper and she’s losing it,” one source inside the DOJ reportedly said. Others claim that Blondi is privately threatening to stall or block unrelated investigations if Bongino and Patel refuse to support her in public.
The controversy intensified after the one-year anniversary of the unreleased Butler Report approached without explanation. Critics have used the delay as further evidence that Blondi is attempting to suppress information that could damage her reputation.
Kash Patel reportedly resists being used as a shield
According to DOJ sources speaking to Loomer, Blondi’s team has tried multiple times to get Patel to release a statement that would minimize internal disagreement and defend her actions. However, Patel is said to be resisting those demands, believing they are politically motivated and dishonest.
The report claims DOJ leadership is now operating in what one insider called “preservation mode,” scrambling to control a narrative that is spiraling out of their control.
While no public statements have been made by Patel or Bongino, the silence has only fueled speculation that both men are preparing to distance themselves from Blondi and her growing list of controversies.
Political fallout looms over Epstein scandal
With the Epstein case still under scrutiny, and the Butler Report remaining sealed, pressure on the DOJ has intensified from conservative media and lawmakers. Several voices on the right are now demanding the full release of Epstein-related files, accusing Blondi of hiding evidence.
The situation has placed former President Donald Trump in a difficult position, as many in the MAGA movement are now openly calling for Blondi to be removed.
The DOJ has not officially responded to the claims, and there are no public schedules indicating when, or if, the Butler Report will be released.
Meanwhile, internal sources say staffers are growing uneasy, fearing retaliation for speaking out or refusing to play along with what they describe as “a collapsing cover-up.”
And as trust continues to erode inside the DOJ, the next resignation—or revelation—may detonate more than just the Epstein files.
