Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Chief of Staff Gen. Romeo Brawner Jr. reaffirmed the military’s commitment to upholding the Constitution and the chain of command, while emphasizing that there will be no coup attempts under his leadership.
Gen. Brawner highlighted the professionalism of the military and its ongoing efforts to promote reforms, accountability, and discipline within the organization.
He expressed confidence in the integrity, patriotism, and professionalism of the soldiers.
The AFP Chief warned those spreading disinformation and unrest that such actions undermine the institution that protects the nation.
He also urged the public to be cautious when dealing with sensitive issues related to national security and to verify facts against baseless accusations.
Brawner reiterated that the AFP’s primary mission is to defend the country and maintain peace and order.
Brawner’s reaction follows the emergence of issues regarding the alleged internal unrest within the AFP, coinciding with the courtesy resignations of cabinet members of the Marcos Administration.
