The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) restored the Santiago–Alicia 69-kilovolt line at 2:15 pm on Friday, October 3, hours after Tropical Cyclone Paolo disrupted power transmission in Isabela and Ifugao.
The line, which supplies electricity to the Isabela 1 Electric Cooperative Inc. in Alicia, Isabela and the Ifugao Electric Cooperative Inc., went offline at 10:26 am as strong winds and heavy rains affected the region.
By late afternoon, NGCP reported that its transmission lines and facilities were back to normal operations.
According to PAGASA, Paolo weakened into a severe tropical storm after briefly intensifying into a typhoon before noon. It added that Paolo is expected to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) by Saturday morning.*
