NBI arrests stepfather for alleged abuse of teen in Cebu City

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) in Central Visayas (NBI-7) arrested a 27-year-old man accused of sexually abusing his stepdaughter for two years in the City of Naga, Cebu.

The suspect, identified as Alyas Kintoy, allegedly molested the victim, now 16, multiple times. According to NBI Director Jaime Santiago, the agency received a report from the victim’s grandmother, a Job Order employee of NBI-7, on Saturday, February 1.

Authorities pursued the suspect through a rural area of the barangay before he returned home later that evening with a gunshot wound to his forehead after an apparent suicide attempt. The following day, NBI-7 personnel arrested him and brought him to a hospital for treatment.

Investigations revealed that the abuse allegedly occurred early in the morning when the victim’s mother left for work at 4 a.m. The victim, now under the custody of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), is receiving support and protection.

The case has sparked outrage in the community, highlighting the need for stronger measures to protect vulnerable minors. Authorities continue to investigate the incident as the suspect remains in custody.
