Motorcycle rider dies after collision with another rider in Dumaguete City

A 29-year-old motorcycle rider was killed in an early morning crash in Dumaguete City on Tuesday, September 2.

Police identified the fatality as Jhon, a resident of the city.

Initial investigation revealed that the incident occurred around 5 a.m. along Diversion Road in Cadawinonan. Jhon had reportedly stopped near an intersection and was about to make a turn when another rider collided with him.

The other rider was identified as a 43-year-old man. Both riders were thrown off their motorcycles due to the impact of the collision and sustained severe injuries.

Emergency responders rushed the victims to a nearby hospital. Jhon, however, was declared dead on arrival by attending physicians. The second rider remained under medical care as of the latest police report.

Authorities said the investigation is ongoing to determine liability and whether any traffic violations contributed to the crash. Diversion Road, a busy route for local motorists, has previously been the site of multiple accidents, raising safety concerns for riders in the area.
