Nine individuals were rescued after a motorbanca capsized during a fluvial parade near Mocaboc Island, Bohol, on January 29, 2025. The Coast Guard District Central Visayas (CGDCV) responded swiftly to the incident, ensuring all passengers and crew were safely brought to shore.
According to reports, the motorbanca encountered difficulties navigating rough seas while escorting the fluvial parade. The Coast Guard Substation (CGSS) Tubigon spotted the struggling vessel and immediately dispatched rescue teams aboard an Aluminum Boat (AB 098) and a Special Operations Group (SOG) Rubber Boat.
By 4:00 PM, all nine passengers, including crew members, were successfully rescued and transported to Bagong Banwa Island. The capsized motorbanca was secured by 4:45 PM, with no reported injuries or fatalities.
