Four suspects were arrested, and over P360,000 worth of suspected shabu, firearms, and ammunition were seized in a buy-bust operation in Barangay San Juan, Taytay, Rizal, on January 28.
The operation, conducted by the Taytay Municipal Police Station in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), led to the arrest of four individuals after they allegedly sold shabu to an undercover police officer. The suspects were identified as alias Ake, 30; alias Benjie, 50; alias Kambal, 48, all residents of Taytay, Rizal; and alias Dale, 38, from San Pedro, Laguna.
Authorities confiscated six packets of suspected shabu weighing approximately 53 grams, a .45-caliber Remington pistol, a magazine, five live ammunition rounds, a cellular phone, a shoulder bag, and marked money used in the operation. The evidence was documented and turned over to the Rizal Provincial Forensic Unit for proper disposition.
The suspects are currently detained at the Taytay Custodial Facility and face charges under Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) and RA 10591 (Firearms Law) in relation to the Omnibus Election Code.
Rizal Police Colonel Felipe Maraggun emphasized the force’s commitment to combating illegal drugs and loose firearms, ensuring the safety of Rizal residents. Further operations are expected as authorities continue to crack down on criminal activities in the province.
