MMDA to reinstate 30-minute ‘heat stroke break’ for enforcers

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) announced that starting today, it will reinstate its Heat Stroke Break Policy for traffic enforcers and street sweepers in preparation for the upcoming summer season.

Under a Memorandum Circular, the policy provides a 30-minute heat stroke break, which will serve as a rest period to protect MMDA personnel from heat-related illnesses while performing their duties.

The measure also aims to safeguard frontline personnel who continue to manage traffic and maintain cleanliness along major roads amid the intense heat.

In line with this, MMDA Chairman Don Artes led the distribution of gallons of drinking water, insulated containers, and reusable water bottles to field personnel at the MMDA Timog Base in Quezon City.
