Memorial statue unveiled for Barbie Hsu on her death anniversary

Family members, friends, and fans continue to remember Barbie Hsu—widely known for her role as San Cai in the Taiwanese drama Meteor Garden—as they marked her first death anniversary yesterday, February 2.

To commemorate the anniversary of her passing, her husband Koo Jun-yup, also known as DJ Koo, unveiled a memorial statue in her honor.

The statue was built in Jinshan, New Taipei City.

In an Instagram post, DJ Koo was seen being hands-on in the creation of the memorial sculpture.

The unveiling was attended by several relatives and former colleagues of Barbie. Present were her mother and her younger sister, Dee Hsu.

Also in attendance were her close friends and Meteor Garden co-stars Jerry Yan and Vic Chou.

The statue is surrounded by nine cubes, which reportedly symbolize the nine planets.

It is also positioned facing the direction where her family lives, symbolizing their enduring love for Barbie.
