Mechanic shot while driving in Davao City, dies hours later

A mechanic succumbed to gunshot wounds hours after being shot while driving in Barangay 5-A, Bankerohan, Davao City, on Monday night.

The victim, identified by the San Pedro Police Station as 50-year-old Marli Masocol, was a resident of Sta. Maria, Davao Occidental.

Initial reports revealed that a gunshot rang out suddenly, shocking nearby residents. A witness, who rushed to check, found Masocol bleeding heavily inside his pickup truck.

Masocol was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, where he received medical attention. However, he died several hours later due to the severity of his injuries.

Authorities remain uncertain about the motive behind the attack. Investigators have yet to identify any suspects or persons of interest, and a full investigation is underway.
