President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has arrived in the United States for an official visit aimed at strengthening bilateral ties between the Philippines and the U.S.
Marcos landed at Joint Base Andrews at exactly 2:48 a.m. (Philippine time), marking his first visit to the U.S. under the administration of President Donald Trump.
During his stay, Marcos is set to reside at the historic Blair House, the official guest residence of the U.S. President, while participating in various state visit activities.
The visit underscores the ongoing efforts to reaffirm diplomatic relations between the two countries amid global and regional challenges.
While Marcos is abroad, he has designated key officials to serve as caretakers of the Philippine government. Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin, Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla, and Agrarian Reform Secretary Conrado Estrella III were appointed to oversee national affairs in his absence.
Further details on Marcos’s scheduled meetings and engagements with U.S. counterparts have yet to be released.
