Marcoleta slams alleged narrative twist in Anson Que killing

House Deputy Speaker Rodante Marcoleta condemned what he described as an alleged attempt to twist the narrative surrounding the death of businessman Anson Que.

Marcoleta said Que’s killing is a troubling reminder that lawlessness still persists in the country. He warned that the incident is being politicized, expressing concern over how the tragedy is now linked to issues unrelated to the core of the crime.

He pointed to efforts connecting the crime to discussions on Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGOs), which have been associated with the previous administration. According to Marcoleta, these efforts do more harm than good.

The lawmaker urged the public to remain vigilant and called on the current administration to uphold justice, accountability, and transparency in handling the case.

The motive behind Que’s killing remains under investigation. Authorities have yet to release conclusive findings.
