Rep. Rodante Marcoleta questioned vlogger and lawyer Ricky Tomotorgo over allegations made in his vlog, “Huwag Maniniwala sa Pakulo at Panlilinlang ni Marcoleta,” during a House Tri-Committee hearing on fake news and disinformation.
Marcoleta argued that the vlog, which discussed his past meeting with former Vice President Leni Robredo during the UniTeam conflict, was misleading and damaging to his reputation.
According to the lawmaker, the content implied deception despite his claim that he never misled the Filipino people.
During the hearing, Marcoleta demanded an apology from Tomotorgo. However, the vlogger firmly refused.
The congressional probe into social media disinformation continues.
