Authorities discovered a lifeless man Tuesday morning, March 10, in Hacienda Otilia, Barangay Efigenio, Talisay City, Negros Occidental.
Agnes, one of the first people who saw the body, told Brigada News FM Bacolod that the victim was unfamiliar.
Investigators saw tire marks near the scene, suggesting someone may have dumped the man’s body there instead of killing him on site.
Police later identified the victim as Alias Ja-ja, a resident of Bacolod City, and noted a stab wound on his stomach.
Authorities are actively investigating the case, including reports linking the victim to alleged scamming activities circulating online and in communities.
Local police are coordinating with nearby barangays to gather additional information and verify whether the victim’s involvement in scams motivated the killing.
Residents in the area expressed shock, stating they did not know the man, and authorities reminded everyone to stay vigilant and report suspicious activities.
The investigation continues, and officials urged anyone with relevant information to come forward to assist in identifying suspects responsible for the homicide.
In the heart of changing lives, Brigada News Philippines remains committed to reporting timely updates on crime, safety, and community developments nationwide.
