A man was found dead on the ground floor of a mall in Bajada, Davao City, on February 17, 2025, after allegedly falling from the 5th floor. The incident occurred around 9:25 PM, following a call to Central 911 reporting the fall. Police quickly responded to the scene, and investigators were dispatched to gather more information.
According to a statement from a mall night shift worker, “Alyas Juan,” the victim, later identified as Daryl, a 40-year-old businessman from Maa, Davao City, was seen on the 5th floor shortly before the fall. Juan mentioned he had heard a scream and then witnessed the victim lying on the ground below, visibly injured.
Central 911 responders arrived promptly and attempted life-saving measures but declared the victim dead at the scene. Daryl’s father, confirmed the victim’s identity and mentioned that his son had left home earlier that evening to buy something. Daryl’s wife was reportedly out of town at the time of the incident.
Authorities also discovered that Daryl had recently undergone medical treatment. Investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of his death.
