Police are investigating a possible love triangle as the motive behind the shooting of a newly graduated victim in Pantukan, Davao de Oro.
According to the Pantukan Municipal Police Station, investigators have identified a person of interest and are continuing a hot pursuit operation against the suspects involved in the attack.
Based on the initial investigation, authorities said the victim had previously disclosed having a long-standing conflict that reportedly led to resentment. Investigators believe the dispute may have stemmed from a love triangle.
Police are also looking into the possibility that individuals may have been hired to carry out the shooting. Authorities have not released additional details while the investigation remains ongoing.
Investigators further found that the victim had allegedly been followed for several days before the attack, suggesting the shooting may have been planned.
The investigation also revealed that the victim’s sibling had previously been killed in a separate shooting incident. Police are examining whether the two cases may have any connection, although no official determination has been made.
