A live round of ammunition of an undetermined caliber and a handwritten note referring to alleged bullying were discovered inside the senior high school building of a university in Bacolod City on the afternoon of July 16, prompting a police investigation and heightened security measures.
The Bacolod City Police Station 6 immediately responded to the incident to secure the campus and conduct an investigation in coordination with school officials.
As a precaution, the school dismissed students early to allow authorities to implement security protocols.
In an interview with Brigada News FM Bacolod, Police Capt. Peter John Ramos, chief of Police Station 6, said the live ammunition was found by two students inside the school building.
The students turned the ammunition over to a janitor, who later surrendered it to the school’s security guard.
Authorities also recovered a handwritten note that contained a message related to alleged bullying.
Ramos clarified that no bomb threat had been received or reported in connection with the incident.
The Police Regional Office–Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR) said an investigation is ongoing to determine the source of the live ammunition and the purpose of the note.
Police are also coordinating closely with the university administration as investigators continue gathering information related to the incident.
Authorities said security remains in place to help ensure the safety of students, teachers and other school personnel while the investigation continues.
Officials have yet to determine who left the live ammunition and the note inside the campus, and no additional information regarding possible suspects or motives has been released. Police said updates will be provided as the investigation progresses.
