The KEITECH Educational Foundation hosted its 15th Commencement Exercises on November 29, 2024, at its Multipurpose Building in Barangays Rizal and Hiluctogan in Kananga, Leyte. The event highlighted the remarkable stories of perseverance and success from its graduates, particularly two outstanding students, Mark James Navarro and Esmer John Dianzon, who earned top honors for their exceptional achievements.
KEITECH, a foundation known for uplifting underprivileged youth through technical and vocational training, continues to be a beacon of hope in the region. The institution’s commitment to molding disciplined, competent individuals was evident as students shared heartfelt stories of personal growth and ambition.
Mark James Navarro: Excellence Born From Humble Beginnings

Mark James Navarro stood out as the recipient of the Oscar M. Lopez Award of Excellence, the Outstanding Trainee of the Year, and the Service Award. His achievements are a testament to his discipline and hard work, qualities he cultivated during his time at KEITECH.
Navarro’s journey was anything but easy. Before joining the program, he worked as a service crew member at a milk tea shop to support himself. Reflecting on his struggles, Navarro highlighted the importance of building friendships with others from similar economic backgrounds, which gave him the strength to persevere.
During his acceptance speech, Navarro expressed deep gratitude to KEITECH, noting that the foundation not only provided technical skills but also instilled valuable life lessons.
“I’m thankful for the discipline they taught me, the time management skills I learned, and the respect I gained for my workmates,” Navarro said. He credited KEITECH for giving him the tools to face life’s challenges with confidence.
Today, Navarro envisions a future filled with opportunities and remains a role model for others aspiring to overcome adversity through education and determination.
Esmer John Dianzon: Leadership Rooted in Resilience

Equally inspiring was the story of Esmer John Dianzon, who received the Federico R. Lopez Award of Leadership, the Outstanding Trainee of the Year, and the Service Award. His journey reflects resilience and the drive to achieve a better life for his family.
Dianzon’s financial hardships pushed him to join KEITECH, where he saw an opportunity to transform his dreams into reality. Previously, Dianzon worked at Wilcon Depot and sold ice cream during the pandemic to support his family.
“Aspiring to work abroad, I want to help my family and improve their lives,” Dianzon shared during the ceremony. He credited KEITECH for equipping him with the discipline and leadership skills necessary to succeed in competitive environments.
Dianzon’s determination to rise above his circumstances has inspired both his peers and his mentors, who see him as a shining example of the foundation’s mission to empower underprivileged youth.
