A 42-year-old job order employee of the Digos City local government was arrested during a drug buy-bust operation in Barangay Zone 3.
Authorities conducted the operation at Purok Tugas, Bonifacio 7th Street, at approximately 10:12 a.m. on July 31 after surveillance activities.
Law enforcement officers identified the suspect only by the alias “Dong” to protect the integrity of the ongoing criminal investigation.
Investigators said the suspect allegedly sold a sachet of suspected shabu to an undercover operative during the carefully planned anti-drug operation.
Authorities immediately arrested the suspect after completing the illegal drug transaction and informed him of his constitutional rights at the scene.
Operatives recovered five sachets containing suspected shabu weighing approximately nineteen grams during the search conducted immediately after the arrest.
Officials estimated the seized illegal drugs carried a standard value of more than ₱129,000 based on current dangerous drug pricing guidelines.
Authorities also confiscated the marked buy-bust money and additional pieces of evidence believed to support the criminal charges against the suspect.
The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Region XI led the operation with assistance from the Davao del Sur Police Provincial Office and Digos City Police Station.
Investigators transferred the confiscated evidence for laboratory examination while processing the suspect according to established law enforcement procedures and regulations.
Prosecutors prepared charges against the suspect for allegedly violating the provisions of Republic Act No. 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.
Authorities reaffirmed their commitment to intensifying anti-illegal drug operations while encouraging communities to support efforts against criminal activities through responsible reporting.
