Senator Christopher “Bong” Go has made Philippine election history by garnering the highest number of votes ever received by a senatorial candidate, according to the official Certificate of Canvass released by the Commission on Elections (Comelec).
Go secured 27,121,073 votes in the 2025 midterm elections, surpassing the 26,612,434 votes earned by fellow PDP-Laban member Senator Robinhood Padilla during the 2022 elections.
Based on Comelec data, voter turnout reached 81.65 percent, or approximately 55 million Filipinos. This means nearly half of those who cast their votes chose Go.
In a post on his official Facebook page, Go thanked Filipinos for their trust and love, promising to repay their support through continued public service and hard work.
Go, who has served as senator since 2019, is widely recognized for his central role in establishing and expanding Malasakit Centers across the country. He is the principal author and sponsor of Republic Act No. 11463, also known as the Malasakit Centers Act of 2019, which institutionalized the centers to improve access to medical and financial assistance.
His top ranking in the Senate race is seen as a significant political milestone and highlights his continued popularity among Filipino voters.
