A 70-year-old German national was killed after the SUV he was driving plunged into a ravine Wednesday afternoon in Barangay Jolomaynon here.
Police said the incident happened around 5 p.m. on Feb. 18.
Initial investigation showed that the victim, identified only as Frank, was backing up his SUV to access the main road when the vehicle suddenly veered toward the roadside and fell into a ravine estimated to be about 600 feet deep.
The driver sustained multiple injuries and was declared dead.
Photos from the scene showed the SUV heavily damaged at the bottom of the ravine.
A 3-year-old boy who was also inside the vehicle during the incident survived. He was immediately brought to a hospital for treatment.
Authorities are continuing their investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the crash.
