A retired Philippine National Police general is facing administrative cases over alleged failure to follow lawful directives and for wearing a luxury item while in uniform, according to the National Police Commission.
In a statement, the NAPOLCOM said its Inspection, Monitoring and Investigation Service filed complaints for less grave neglect of duty and conduct unbecoming of a police officer against the former senior official.
The complaint cited the general’s alleged repeated failure to comply with NAPOLCOM directives requiring the submission of psychiatric and psychological reports of a patrolman assigned to the Quezon City Police District.
The patrolman involved is also a vlogger who previously posted what authorities described as seditious statements online.
A second basis of the complaint involved the alleged wearing of luxury footwear valued at ₱70,599.75 while the general was in PNP uniform. NAPOLCOM noted that the amount is nearly equivalent to the monthly basic salary of a brigadier general.
According to the commission, the incident raised serious concerns as it allegedly ran counter to the standards of simple living and ethical conduct expected of all public servants, particularly senior officials of the PNP.
NAPOLCOM emphasized that police officers, especially those holding high-ranking positions, are expected to uphold discipline, integrity and professionalism at all times.
The official retired from the police service on Dec. 25, 2025, after reaching the mandatory retirement age of 56.
Despite the retirement, NAPOLCOM said administrative cases may still proceed in accordance with existing rules and regulations governing police personnel.
