Gadon files disbarment complaint versus VP, regrets support to the Dutertes

Former lawyer now presidential adviser Larry Gadon formally filed a complaint letter urging the Supreme Court (SC) to initiate a ‘Motu Proprio’ disbarment proceeding against Vice President Sara Duterte.

In his two- page complaint Gadon said Duterte’s statements against President Ferdinand Marcos Jr including the alleged death threat are ‘illegal, immoral and condemnable’.

Gadon also mentioned other incidents that should be made as additional grounds to revoke the license of the vice president to practice her profession as a lawyer.

When she was still a mayor of Davao she punched and inflicted injuries to the Sheriff who was then enforcing the order of the court, she was not disbarred nor suspended.” the complaint letter stated.

The anti-poverty adviser also urged the SC to disbar Duterte in the same principle that the high tribunal disbarred him through “Motu Proprio” proceedings.

Motu Proprio is a term used in a legal context to describe an action taken independently even without formal request or prompting from others.

Gadon said the decision of SC on his disbarment is ‘wrong’ so he urged the same court to do it right against the vice president.

If the Supreme Court has applied it wrongfully in the circumstances of Atty Larry Gadon, there is no reason the Supreme Court cannot apply it rightfully to Sara Z. Duterte -Carpio”. Gadon stressed.

In an interview Gadon also expressed regrets that he once supported the Dutertes.

” I really regret, hindi ko naman akalain na ganyan pala sila eh. Yung mga statements ni Vice President Sara napaka immature kulang na kulang sa statesmanship. Hindi sya nag aaral basta na lang siya nagsasalita.” Gadon said

Vice President Duterte has no statement yet regarding the disbarment cases filed against her in the SC.
