Former Sen. Revilla files counter-affidavit with DOJ over flood control complaint

Former Senator Bong Revilla has submitted a counter-affidavit to the Department of Justice (DOJ) in connection with corruption complaints linked to flood control projects.

According to Revilla’s spokesperson, Atty. Francesca Lourdes Señga, the counter-affidavit was filed to directly address what they described as baseless allegations against the former senator.

Señga said the accusations are “incredible and incompetent,” adding that these are allegedly based on hearsay.

The lawyer stressed that the complaint against Revilla was filed merely to harass or inconvenience him.

This is the second complaint related to alleged irregularities in flood control projects that Revilla has faced before the DOJ.

Meanwhile, Senator Joel Villanueva also went to the DOJ to attend the preliminary investigation of a similar complaint filed against him in connection with the same issue.

Villanueva said that despite describing the complaint as “ridiculous,” he still appeared before the DOJ out of respect for the legal process and due process.
