Five killed in Houthi missile attack on Yemen presidential palace

At least five people were killed after Houthi rebels fired five missiles at the presidential palace complex in Aden, southern Yemen, on Thursday.

The fatalities included two security guards and three other individuals.

Yemen’s Information Minister Moammar al-Eryani said the prime minister and members of the cabinet, who were inside the Maashiq presidential palace during the attack, were unharmed.

Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree said the strike was part of the group’s policy of targeting Saudi military build-ups wherever they are found.

Meanwhile, the Houthi-run Saba news agency reported that the attack targeted the headquarters of Saudi military operations officials and a weapons depot within the palace complex.

Witnesses reported hearing loud explosions in the area as authorities continued to monitor the security situation following the attack.
