Fake surgeon arrested in Cebu

A 54-year-old fake surgeon, known as “Mommy Debs,” was arrested in an entrapment operation conducted by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI-7) at her home in Barangay Basak Pardo, Cebu City.

The operation was prompted by complaints from clients who suffered infections after undergoing aesthetic surgeries performed by the suspect. One victim, identified as Prince, reported severe infection following a hip enhancement procedure conducted in a hotel for P20,000.

Prince stated that his condition worsened despite receiving prescribed medication from Mommy Debs during a follow-up meeting. He later required a major operation to remove the severe infection.

The NBI confirmed that the suspect was not listed in the database of registered physicians. During the entrapment, authorities found her about to perform another cosmetic procedure. Medical tools and paraphernalia were seized at the scene, confirming her illegal practice.

Victims expressed outrage, with Prince accusing the suspect of blocking him on social media after his condition deteriorated.

The arrest highlights the dangers of unlicensed medical practitioners and the need for stricter regulation in aesthetic procedures. Legal charges are being prepared against the suspect.
