A suspected explosion involving improvised fireworks left three individuals injured, including two minors, in Rosario Village, Barangay Lagao, General Santos City, on Monday afternoon.
The incident occurred at approximately 5:20 PM along Molave Street when the improvised fireworks were reportedly mishandled or improperly constructed. Authorities say the explosion caused varying degrees of injury to the victims, who were quickly transported to nearby hospitals for treatment.
The victims have been identified as Romeo Bacumo Tag-at, 31, who sustained more serious injuries and was rushed to a different hospital for urgent medical care. His condition is currently under assessment. The two minors, Ralph Jose Sumaat and Lorenzo Ethan Yap, both 13, sustained minor injuries and were reported to be in stable condition.
Witnesses described hearing a loud blast followed by a cloud of smoke and panic in the area. Emergency responders arrived shortly after and quickly provided assistance to the injured victims.
