A suspected drug peddler was arrested during a buy-bust operation in San Vicente Village, Barangay Talomo, Davao City, shortly after midnight on Sept. 7, 2026.
Authorities recovered 8.4 kilograms of dried marijuana leaves during the operation, with a standard drug price of P1.008 million.
The operation was conducted by the City Drug Enforcement Unit-Special Operations Group (CDEU-SOG) of the Davao City Police Office (DCPO), in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Region 11 (PDEA XI) and other police units.
The suspect is currently detained and will face charges for alleged violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
DCPO City Director PCOL Peter Bauzon Madria commended the operatives involved in the successful operation.
Madria also assured that authorities will continue conducting operations against illegal drugs in Davao City.
The arrest and seizure were the result of the coordinated buy-bust operation conducted by the police unit and its partner agencies in Barangay Talomo.
