The Mambaling Police Station has detained Godufredo Bropal, a 35-year-old multicab driver, who confessed to the murder of 22-year-old Neca Denise Lagria. Lagria’s body was found discarded at the seawall of South Road Properties on Tuesday.
Bropal, identified as the primary and sole suspect, was arrested following a tip-off from his nephew, Jason Cullamat, who was initially apprehended by the police. The arrest was made during a follow-up operation in Barangay Sab-a, San Remegio, with the assistance of the San Remegio Police Station.
In an exclusive interview with Brigada News FM, Bropal admitted to killing Lagria after she allegedly bit his tongue. “She bit my tongue, so I killed her,” Bropal confessed, detailing the events leading up to the crime. He revealed that Lagria had boarded his multicab early Tuesday morning, intending to attend a meeting. Inside the vehicle, Bropal strangled her to death.
Police Major Efren Diaz Jr., head of the Mambaling Police Station, declared the case closed with the prime suspect now in custody. Authorities are awaiting the autopsy results to determine the exact charges to be filed against Bropal.
The shocking confession has left the community in disbelief, as they grapple with the brutal nature of the crime. As the investigation continues, the focus remains on ensuring justice for Lagria and her grieving family.
