KABANKALAN CITY, Negros Occidental — A bottlenose dolphin was spotted in a shallow coastal waters of Purok Kalubihan, Barangay Cartagena in Sipalay City on Wednesday, August 28, facing bouyancy issue.
According to a Facebook post from the Sipalay City LGU, 44-year-old Gelonimo Galvez was the keen-eyed resident who first spotted the dolphin and swiftly alerted the city’s Bantay Dagat Task Force.
Local experts have confirmed that the dolphin, measuring approximately 1.60 meters in length, showed no significant injuries but was experiencing buoyancy issues. This condition likely explains why it was found in the shallow waters.
