Actor Derek Ramsay has denied any involvement in illegal activities as authorities investigate his controversial luxury car, a Porsche 918 Spyder.
The issue began after the supercar was spotted being driven along EDSA using an allegedly illegal license plate, prompting the Land Transportation Office (LTO) to order the vehicle’s impoundment.
Although the Porsche is registered under Ramsay’s name, it was being driven at the time by his friend, Anthony Jude “AJ” Violago, president and CEO of San Lorenzo Ruiz Builders and Developers Group.
Violago admitted that the questionable plate belonged to him, saying the letters on the plate referred to his initials. Ramsay, however, denied having any involvement in the use of the plate.
Ramsay and Violago appeared before the LTO on August 17, 2026, in response to a show-cause order issued over the incident.
The Bureau of Customs (BOC) also launched a separate investigation into the vehicle.
The controversy deepened after authorities reportedly found irregularities and compliance issues involving the car’s importation.
Ramsay maintains that he has no involvement in any illegal activity related to the luxury vehicle.
