Alex Eala, Felix Auger-Aliassime to team up in US Open Mixed Doubles

Filipina tennis ace Alex Eala is set to team up with Canadian star Felix Auger-Aliassime in the US Open mixed doubles tournament.

The Eala-Auger-Aliassime tandem received a wildcard into the 16-team main draw, with their opening-round match scheduled for August 25 in New York.

Auger-Aliassime, currently ranked world No. 4, is looking forward to the partnership, calling it a great opportunity after missing last year’s US Open.

The Canadian said the team-up feels different, particularly with Eala bringing her own fan base and energy to the tournament.

The two also share a connection through the Rafael Nadal Academy in Mallorca, Spain, where Eala spent part of her tennis development.

Standing in their way are married couple Elina Svitolina and Gael Monfils, who will make their official doubles debut.
