Amid her grieving, Dee Hsu shared her emotional journey after the passing of her sister, Barbie Hsu, last year.
In a talk show appearance, Dee recalled their planned trip to Japan.
She said it was rare for her sister to agree to travel, as Barbie would often decline trips, saying she was tired and preferred to stay home. However, on that occasion, Barbie insisted on pushing through with the trip.
Their mother had initially opposed the plan, as it coincided with Chinese New Year, a time when flights are more expensive and tourist spots are crowded.
Despite this, Barbie, Dee, and their eldest sister, Hsu Hsi-hsien, decided to proceed with the trip to Japan.
Dee admitted that she was the one who initiated the travel plan. Because of this, she said she sometimes feels a sense of guilt when remembering her sister, thinking she may have influenced the decision to go.
She shared that their mother has been reminding her not to dwell on guilt, saying that blaming herself would only make it harder for her to move forward.
Barbie Hsu, widely known for her role as San Cai in the hit Taiwanese drama Meteor Garden, passed away in February last year while on vacation with her family in Tokyo.
Her death was reportedly caused by complications related to influenza and pneumonia.
