Criminology graduate mistaken for thief, beaten to death in Manila

A criminology graduate was fatally beaten in Malate, Manila, after being wrongfully accused of theft.

The victim, identified as 26-year-old Christian Ambon, was mobbed, struck, and stabbed by a group of people. He was rushed to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries after a few days.

According to his relatives, Ambon was not a thief—he was the actual victim of a robbery. His cellphone was stolen, and he had been chasing the thief into a house when he was suddenly attacked.

Ambon had recently arrived in Manila from Samar and was planning to work as a security guard while preparing for his board exam.

His grieving family is determined to file charges against those responsible for his death.

Authorities are currently investigating the incident and working to identify the individuals involved in the mob attack.
