A couple was arrested after authorities seized more than ₱14 million worth of suspected shabu during a buy-bust operation in Cebu City on Friday night.
The operation was carried out around 8 p.m. on March 27 in Sitio Langub, Barangay Kalunasan, Cebu City.
Police identified the suspects as alias Sandra, 54, a resident of Barangay Guadalupe, and her partner, alias Budlat, 39, a resident of Barangay Luz, both in Cebu City.
Authorities reported that several packages of suspected shabu were confiscated during the operation. The seized illegal drugs weighed more than two kilograms and had a standard drug price of ₱14,382,000.
The suspects were immediately taken into custody following the operation.
As of this writing, the couple remains detained at the custodial facility of Guadalupe Police Station 9.
Authorities said the suspects are facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Police have not released additional details regarding the source of the illegal drugs or whether other individuals are being pursued in connection with the case.
The buy-bust operation forms part of ongoing anti-illegal drug efforts conducted by law enforcement authorities in Cebu City.
