The Commission on Elections (Comelec) assured that the vacant seats left by the disqualified Duterte Youth Party-list will be taken up during the Comelec en banc deliberations.
This comes after the official issuance of the certificate of finality confirming the party-list’s disqualification.
The certificate was released after 30 days lapsed without a temporary restraining order (TRO) from the Supreme Court.
According to Comelec Chair George Garcia, the matter of finality and the allocation of the vacated seats will be discussed soon.
In the previous elections, Duterte Youth Party-list secured three congressional seats after garnering 2 million votes.
Last August, the poll body affirmed the cancellation of its accreditation due to its failure to submit the required documents.
