The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has started investigating possible campaign donations received by 2022 presidential and vice-presidential candidates from government contractors.

In an interview, Comelec Chairman George Garcia said this is part of their ongoing probe into 55 contractors who allegedly contributed to candidates during the 2022 elections.

He added that they must first confirm that the donors are indeed public works contractors.

Once verified, the Comelec will release the names of the contractors involved.
