A delivery rider went viral after sharing a video showing a customer fleeing with a parcel and later threatening him with a fake gun during a delivery in Barangay Basak San Nicolas, Cebu City, on June 19.
The rider, identified as Jerald Palca, said he chased the customer all the way to the latter’s house. In the video he posted, the customer appeared to pull out a fake gun and used it to intimidate him.
Palca said he tried to speak with the customer’s mother to resolve the issue, but their conversation only led to an argument. Despite his efforts, Palca was unable to collect the payment for the parcel.
He initially intended to file a complaint at the local police station. However, the report was not pursued after authorities told him the customer reportedly has a mental health condition.
Palca is now calling on the public to be responsible buyers and to respect the work of delivery riders who are simply doing their jobs.
